Stone Soup Poetry meets every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 at our new location, the Fort Point Arts Community's Assemblage Gallery, located on 70(a) Sleeper Street, just across from
the Barking Crab restaurant (free admission but donations for features
are appreciated). On January 29, we welcome back David Miller as he reads from his brand new collection.
David P. Miller’s collection, Sprawled Asleep, was
published in late 2019 by Nixes Mate Books. His chapbook, The Afterimages,
was published by Červená Barva Press. His poems have recently appeared in Meat
for Tea, Hawaii Pacific Review, Turtle Island Quarterly, poems2go, riverbabble,
Nixes Mate Review, The Lily Poetry Review, Peacock Journal, Redheaded
Stepchild, The Blue Pages, and What Rough Beast, among others.
He is a member of the Jamaica Pond Poets.
His poem “Add One Father to Earth”
was awarded an Honorable Mention by Robert Pinsky for the New England Poetry
Club's 2019 Samuel Washington Allen Prize competition. With a background in
experimental theater before turning to poetry, David was a member of the
multidisciplinary Mobius Artists Group of Boston for 25 years. He was a
librarian at Curry College in Massachusetts, from which he retired in June
2018.
