March 2: Dexter Garcia Features at Stone Soup

Amidst the global pandemic, Stone Soup Poetry has been offering an online open mic via Zoom for anyone interested. This continues to receive an amazing response, and we appreciate everyone's participation.

On Wednesday March 2, we welcome past feature Dexter Garcia to our virtual podium as she celebrates the release of her new poetry collection, Love Poems to my Not Lover.

Dexter Garcia is an Afro-Latinx Boston based poet who has been writing since she was 11 but began writing seriously at 19. Dexter was pushed to writing by the need to express herself and realized that it was a way to create change. She is inspired by everyday life but especially by the ways in which it affects marginalized peoples. Dexter loves to write about love and all of the different ways we experience it. She has worked with organizations such as Raw Art Works, The Institute of Contemporary Art, MassLEAP and many more.
