July 12: Len Germinara and Sarah Oktay Feature at Stone Soup Poetry

Stone Soup Poetry will no longer be meeting in person at Fort Point Arts Community's Assemblage Gallery. Stay tuned for future announcements. On July 12, we feature poetry power couple Sarah Oktay and Len Germinara.

Sarah Oktay, Ph.D. is a scientist by nature and a poet by nurture. She co-founded Spoken Word Nantucket with her husband Len Germinara. For twelve years, they hosted an open mic that featured performances by some of the best poets in the country. She recently published the first of four volumes of essays on the natural history of Nantucket entitled Naturally Nantucket, the Sea: Volume One. She has edited and produced nine books of poetry for other authors and writing collaboratives. Sifting Light through the Darkness is her first book of poetry, her second one will be out in December of 2023. She also contributed two chapters to Women of the Wild Challenging Gender Disparities in Field Stations and Marine Laboratories. For the past two years she has given many performances around the country via Zoom.

Len Germinara has been writing, publishing, and performing his poetry for over four decades. For 17 years he ran spoken word venues in Massachusetts from south of Boston to Nantucket featuring some of the best poets in the country. Len has been a feature on WCAI-NPR in Massachusetts and Writers on the Air in Sacramento CA. Len has been published in numerous national journals and publications.
