February 1: Dr. Tara Betts Features Online at Stone Soup Poetry

 
 
In addition to online gatherings, Stone Soup Poetry is now meeting in person every second Wednesday of the month at Fort Point Arts Community's Assemblage Gallery. More gallery shows will soon be announced. Until then, we welcome you to kick back and hear online feature Dr. Tara Betts on February 1 and purchase her latest poetry collection, Refuse to Disappear. The next in-person gathering will be on February 8.

Dr. Tara Betts is the author of Refuse to Disappear, Break the Habit, and Arc & Hue. In addition to her work as a teaching artist and mentor for young poets, she has taught at Rutgers University, University of Illinois-Chicago, Northwestern University and at Stateville Prison via the Prison + Neighborhood Arts Project. She is the Inaugural Poet for the People Practitioner Fellow at University of Chicago. Betts currently teaches at DePaul University and serves as Poetry Editor at The Langston Hughes Review. She is also founder of the nonprofit organization The Whirlwind Learning Center on Chicago's South Side.
