February 25: Jules Nyquist Features at Stone Soup Poetry

Jules Nyquist, Ph.D., is the founder of Jules’ Poetry Playhouse in Placitas, NM. Her recent award-winning books are Atomic Paradise, Homesick, then, and The Sestina Playbook (Poetry Playhouse Publications). She took her PhD in Post-Secondary Adult Education from Capella University and her MFA in Writing and Literature from Bennington College. Jules poems have been featured in print, online, audio, radio or in-person at various readings and events including the NM History Conference, in Las Cruces, NM, the American Psychological Association Conference in Denver, CO, the Jonquil Motel in Bisbee, AZ, the Rattlesnake Museum in Albuquerque, NM, a kind of a small array gallery in Magdalena, NM, the Briar in Minneapolis, MN, the Black Dog Café in St. Paul, MN, a Masonic Lodge in Bemidji, MN, the New Mexico Humanities Council, in Albuquerque, NM, Unquarked in Los Alamos, NM, and featured at the International Women’s Day at the Santa Fe Capitol Rotunda, and many other bookstores, bars, galleries, and elsewhere. Her poems have appeared in Salamander, 5AM, Malpais Review, Adobe Walls, A View from the Loft, St. Paul Almanac, Long Islander News, Gray Sparrow, House Organ, Duke City Fix, Café Review IKON Magazine, Journal of Humanistic Mathematics, and elsewhere. Richard W. Spisak Jr. began life as a professional light artist with Mel Tanner of Lumonics. Then worked with master Lumist Kenven Lyman of Dazzleland Studios. Richard has been a Writer/Producer/Director in Live Theatre, TV, and radio, for 30 years. He has contributed editorial essays and cartoons to a wide array on newspapers and periodicals and e-zines. He continues to publish his editorial cartoons on the Web. He has published two short story collections Two Small Windows, in a Pair of Mirror Doors, and "Between the Silences". In 2022 Richard published his collected poetry, 7370 Allen Drive. In 2024 he published Stone Poetry and in 2025 his latest poetry collection, No Noise has been released into the wild. Richard produces, Poets of the East, a webcast which features poets from Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

Brian Mosher writes poetry and fiction from his home in Mansfield, MA. His work has appeared in Blood and Bourbon, Lily Poetry Review, Literary Underground, Nixes Mate, Anomaly Poetry, eMerge, Esoterica, and others. His unpublished short story collection was shortlisted for the Unleash Press 2025 Book Prize, and his short story “Fragments” was a winner of the Nikki Hanna Literary Challenge. He has self-published three books, all available through Amazon. Mosher’s most recent collection, A Muster of Melodious Musings (2025) is published by Metaphysical Fox Press. His poetry chapbook Relict is published by Finishing Line Press.

December 10: Anna Geoffroy Features at Stone Soup Poetry

Anna Geoffroy is a Massachusetts-based poet, propagandist and pope (non-exclusive). She is the co-host of the live-to-tape Contro-Verse open mic in Malden and editor of the Holy Nonsense project. She has performed at festivals, galleries, coffee shops and porch fests from Manchester to Mansfield, and other places not starting with the letter M. Her poetry has been published in Oddball Magazine, The Blood Rag, the Depose Anthology, and the Massachusetts Bards 2025 Poetry Anthology. You can also find her poetry and artwork featured in the 2022 Lines Connecting Lines exhibit at UMA, the Malden Covid Memorial, and a street post near you.

December 3: g emil reutter Features at Stone Soup Poetry

A writer of poems and stories and on occasion literary criticism, g emil reutter was born in Bristol, Pa., raised in Levittown, Pa. and has lived most of his life in of Philadelphia, Pa. A highly decorated member of the Railroad Police, he retired from a 26 year career in the patrol, anti-crime and criminal investigation division. Prior he worked as a steelworker, tea blender and a number of other jobs. A graduate of Neshaminy High School, he graduated from the New England Institute of Law Enforcement Management, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. He attended Temple University and Penn State University among others. His poetry and fiction have been widely published in the small and electronic press as well as numerous newspapers and magazines. Twenty-one of his collections have been published. He published The Fox Chase Review (2008 – 2015). He is currently a contributing editor at North of Oxford.

October 29: Stone Soup's Trilogy of (not really) Terror

Don Kingfisher Campbell received his MFA in Creative Writing from Antioch University Los Angeles and taught Writers Seminar at Occidental College Upward Bound for 36 years. He's been a coach and judge for Poetry Out Loud, a performing poet/teacher for Red Hen Press Youth Writing Workshops, an L.A. Coordinator and Board Member of California Poets In The Schools, poetry editor of the Angel City Review, publisher of Four Feathers Press, and host of the Saturday Afternoon Poetry reading series in Pasadena, California. 

Marvin Louis Dorsey was raised in the San Fernando Valley and now resides in the high desert. He worked for decades as a kennel manager for a boxer rescue facility. Marvin has been writing poetry for over twenty years. He is the inventor of the poetic libretto. He has been published in the book Looking Out Of Alhambra and in these print and online publications: The San Gabriel Valley Poetry Quarterly, Spectrum, Poetic Diversity, and Four Feathers Press. He also has produced six books: Desert Prowl, Gathered Pieces of Broken Glass, Masquerades, Casual Conversations, The Poetic Librettos, and Snacky Snacks.

Carl Stilwell (aka CaLokie) is a retired teacher who taught for over 30 years in the Los Angeles Unified school District and participated in UTLA’s teachers’ strikes in 1970 and 1989. He was born during the depression in Oklahoma and came to California in 1959 and has lived here ever since. His pen name was inspired by the Joad's struggle for survival In The Grapes of Wrath and the songs and life of Woody Guthrie. His poems have been published in Altadena Poetry Review, Blue Collar Review, Four Feather’s Press, Lummox, Pearl, Prism, Revolutionary Poets Brigade--Los Angeles, Rise Up, Sequoyah Cherokee River Journal, The Sparring Artists,    ZZyZx WriterZ and The New Verse News.

October 8: Tobias Hofacre Features at Stone Soup Poetry

Stone Soup Poetry meets every Wednesday online from 7:00-9:00 PM via Zoom. Stay tuned for updates on any future live gatherings. On October 8, Stone Soup welcomes the young trailblazer Tobias Hofacre to their virtual podium.
  
Student by day and poet by night, Tobias Hofacre is a 15-year-old poet phenom who's been writing poetry since 2018, inspired by his Aunt. Tobias Hofacre published his first poetry chapbook titled A Poets Dream in 2024. For nearly two years, he has also been taking part in a challenge where he writes a poem everyday called the Stafford Challenge. In addition to poetry, Tobias spends much of his time playing video games, participating in extracurricular activities such as marching band, watching football and NASCAR, and hanging out with family and friends. Most weeks, you can find him at the Walnut Street Cafe in Lynn Massachusetts, where he originally made his poetry debut. He’s grown up and still lives and writes on the Massachusetts North Shore in Essex County, MA.
