online open mic via Zoom for anyone interested. This continues to
receive an amazing response, and we appreciate everyone's participation.
On
Wednesday August 11, John Stickney takes time from being on the road to have his first feature since becoming our online friend.
John Stickney has been a poet and writer for 40 plus years, first in Cleveland, Ohio, now in Wilmington, NC. The recipient of an Individual Artist Grant Award for Poetry from the Ohio Arts Council, his poems have appeared in numerous anthologies and magazines (including Oddball Magazine, Pocket Lint, Exquisite Corpse, Medusa’s Kitchen, Alien Buddha Zine, and North of Oxford). John has performed his work on the radio and television, and his work has been performed by others both on stage and set to music. His work has published in two collections: Works of art are like questions or problems put by their inventor to the public at large (PA Press) and These Americans Moments (Burning Press). He has published book reviews, interviews and featured articles, as well as Art reviews and criticism.
His short fiction has appeared in Mississippi Review, ThugLit, Needles, Beat to a Pulp among others. His authored short monologue, “ Pandemic Travels” and authored short film, Hungry were released in two separate programs via Eventbrite in 2021. John is currently a member of The Writers of the Forest, Port City Playwrights’s Project, the North Carolina Poetry Society, The Ohio Poetry Association and the North Carolina Writers Network.
