December 4: Jeff Taylor Features at Stone Soup Poetry



Stone Soup Poetry now meets every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 at our new location, the Fort Point Arts Community's Assemblage Gallery, located on 70(a) Sleeper Street, just across from the Barking Crab restaurant (free admission but donations for the poet(s) appreciated). On December 4, we start closing out 2019 with poet, editor and publisher Jeff Taylor.

Jeff Taylor has been performing his poems in and around Boston for almost 20 years. Jeff’s chapbook Heroes Make Better Sandwiches Than People is available from Broken Head Press, he has poems published in various journals and anthologies including Maps For Teeth, Word Riot, and Boston Poetry Slam: 20 Years at the Cantab Lounge. Jeff is the editor of The occasionally published journal I Can Count To 10.

November 27: No Stone Soup This Week


Out of respect for everyone dealing this hectic holiday week , Stone Soup will not be gathering this Wednesday November 27.

NEW DATE November 20: Lexi Wight Features at Stone Soup Poetry


Due to a scheduling miscommunication at the gallery, we are moving the poet's feature to November 20. We apologize for the confusion.

Stone Soup Poetry now meets every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 at our new location, the Fort Point Arts Community's Assemblage Gallery, located on 70(a) Sleeper Street, just across from the Barking Crab restaurant (free admission but donations for the poet(s) appreciated). On November 20, we kick off the new month with poet Lexi Wright.

Lexi Wight spends her day attempting to help bridge worldwide cultural gaps, and her nights immersed in multiple different art forms. Throughout the week, you can find her loitering at some of her favorite spots. These include Bill's open mic jam in Newton, where she has been knighted, and the Lizard Lounge’s Poetry Slam, where she has been featured. She has also been part of the Lizard Lounge slam team for the past three years, during which they performed in the Nationals in Atlanta, Denver, and Chicago. In addition she has been a guest on 87FM’s Smokin’ Rhymes and the Boston Stoops podcast. You can find recordings of her poems on Soundcloud.

November 13: Kelly DuMar Features at Stone Soup Poetry



Stone Soup Poetry now meets every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 at our new location, the Fort Point Arts Community's Assemblage Gallery, located on 70(a) Sleeper Street, just across from the Barking Crab restaurant (free admission but donations for the poet(s) appreciated). On November 13, Stone Soup will be introduced to the work of poet Kelly DuMar.

Kelly DuMar is a poet, playwright, and writing workshop leader who has published three poetry and prose chapbooks, including her most recent, girl in tree bark, published by Nixes Mate. All These Cures is published by Lit House Press, and Tree of the Apple, is published by Two of Cups Press. Kelly's poems are published in Bellevue Literary Review, Tupelo Quarterly, Tiferet, Crab Fat and more, and her plays have been produced around the US and are published by dramatic publishers. She produces the Our Voices Festival of Boston Area Women Playwrights, held at Wellesley College, now in its 13th year, and she produces the annual Boston Writing Retreat and weeklong summer Play Lab for the International Women’s Writing Guild where she is a longstanding board member. Kelly inspires readers of #NewThisDay - her daily photo-inspired blog - with her mindful reflections on a writing life on the Charles River.

Due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts with the Assemblage Gallery, Stone Soup is cancelled this week. We will see you back next Wednesday on November 13 with feature Kelly Dumar.
