August 31: Petrina Skyy Features at Stone Soup

Moving forward, Stone Soup Poetry meets every Monday from 7-9 p.m. every Monday at the Out of The Blue Art Gallery, now at its new location at 541 Massachusetts Avenue in Central Square Cambridge, Massachusetts. On August 31, we say goodbye to the spirit of summer and prepare for the changes that come next month with one more summer celebration by giving a debut feature to poet Petrina Skyy.

Petrina Skyy is a poet and dancer born in Boston currently hanging in the south shore. Her favorite authors include Toni Morrison, James Baldwin, Zora kneel Hurston, and Edwidge Danticat. "I pretty much enjoy books that bring me closer to understanding my history and identity."  She has performed her work on open mics at the Milky Way, the Cantab Lounge, Haley House, Stone Soup, the Salem State open mic, the Umass Boston open mic, and the Lizard Lounge. As a dancer she performed African and Haitian dance with the group Arc-en-cie at the Hyde Park Community Center.
