April 22, Diane Sahms visits our virtual podium for National Poetry Month. 

Diane Sahms, a native Philadelphian, is the author of nine poetry collections, latest—of an octopus: an archite|x|tural awareness of words, Carbonation Press, 2026. Awarded first place in Judith Stark’s Poetry Contest and Partisan Press’s Working People’s Poetry Contest, she is the recipient of AEVentures Foundation’s Poetry Grant. Published in North American Review, Northern Virginia Review, Brushfire, Valley Voices, Sequestrum, Chiron Review, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Pennsylvania Literary Journal, Ranger Magazine, Amsterdam Review and elsewhere, with poems forthcoming from Abstract Magazine: Contemporary Expressions. Poetry Editor at North of Oxford, she worked as a Contract Specialist and high school English teacher.

Jason Wright is the publisher and founder of Oddball Magazine. He is author of three books, A Letter to the World, Train of Thought: Poems from the Red Line, and Train of Thought 2: Almost Home. He is also the host of The Oddball Show, a podcast advocating for mental wellness.

March 18: Rick Christiansen Features at Stone Soup Poetry


Stone Soup Poetry meets every Wednesday online from 7:00-9:00 PM via Zoom. Stay tuned for updates on any future live gatherings. On March 18, Rick Christiansen comes to us via Kansas City to feature at our virtual podium.

Rick Christiansen is the author of Bone Fragments (2024) and Not a Hero (2025). Spartan Press. His work has received two 2025 Pushcart Prize nominations and he was a finalist for the RHINO Poetry 2025 Founders Prize. He has also been longlisted for a 2025 Rhysling Award (outcome pending). His poems explore survival, memory, class, and the residue of violence. He lives in Kansas City with his wife Kim and his dog B.
